1. BATTERY LIFE SPAN

Depending upon the battery quality and regional conditions, the average life span can be between six and 24 months.

battery2

2. TEMPERATURE TOLERANCE

Light performance can be affected by average temperatures less than 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

battery3

3. BATTERY TYPE

Only AA rechargeable batteries can be used in SolaRadiance®. Do not use an alkaline (regular AA) battery in the planter as it can create gas in the sealed battery chamber which would expose hazardous compounds.

4. BATTERY RECYCLING

Battery recycling is suggested. All Lowe’s, Walmart, Radio Shack and Best Buy stores have drop-off boxes for dead batteries. Visit www.call2recycle.org/locator to find a battery recycling center nearest you.

5. BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The rechargeable solar battery should last one year or more. Once the battery will no longer fully recharge, it needs to be replaced with a rechargeable AA battery. To replace, remove the globe by turning it one-quarter to the left (counter-clockwise) to access the battery compartment. Raise the battery compartment door, located under the solar cap, and replace the battery. After replacing the battery, reattach the battery compartment door, followed by the globe.
